SUMMARY:Launching the Energy Efficient New Hospital Development Guide — Insights from CAF Research - Funded by NRCan
DESCRIPTION:Supported by Natural Resources Canada’s Codes Acceleration Fund (CAF)\, this applied research initiative examined 26 newly constructed hospitals across six provinces to identify what differentiates high-performing facilities from the rest. These findings form the foundation of the Energy Efficient New Hospital Development Guide\, which maps the hospital development process from early planning through to operations\, highlighting the key decisions that influence long-term energy performance. \nWhile many hospitals are designed with ambitious energy targets\, the research shows that actual performance often falls short of expectations due to gaps in target setting\, design assumptions\, procurement approaches\, and operational practices. This session will introduce the Guide and share practical insights on how to better align planning\, design\, and operations to ensure that expected performance is achieved and sustained over time. \nClick here to register.
