About us
Climate Challenge Network is a non-profit organization bringing together collaborative, data-driven sectoral programs, currently for municipalities, hospitals, school boards, and post-secondary institutions. The programs focus on building-related greenhouse gas emissions reductions and energy and water efficiency, helping their members future-proof and build resiliency in their organizations and communities. Climate Challenge Network also collaborates with industry and academic experts to share best practices and engage in real solutions to address climate change.
OUR PROGRAMS
Mayors’ Megawatt Challenge
Mayors’ Megawatt Challenge is a network of municipalities that brings municipalities together to improve energy efficiency and environmental performance in their own buildings and contribute more broadly to mitigating climate change and making their communities more sustainable. The program features events, benchmarking and assessment reports, on-going energy and water reporting, analytical tools, and awards and recognition.
Greening Health Care
Greening Health Care is a network of 65 hospitals from Ontario and Alberta featuring events, benchmarking and assessment reports, on-going energy and water reporting, incentive applications, analytical tools, and awards and recognition. The program aims to help hospitals become leaders in energy efficiency, reduce their impact on the environment, and contribute more broadly to mitigating climate change and making their communities more sustainable.
Sustainable Schools
Since 2007, Sustainable Schools has worked with school boards across Canada to build the knowledge and practice of energy efficiency in schools. It is a ground-breaking initiative, going beyond energy reporting and benchmarking to establish best practice energy targets for individual schools, and thus how much energy each school and school board can save. This knowledge of conservation potential provides the foundation and direction for effective conservation action.
Post-Secondary Climate Challenge
The Post-Secondary Climate Challenge is a member and data driven program which brings together post-secondary schools to collaborate and achieve deep reductions in energy use, utility costs and greenhouse gas emissions. The program engages member institutions through comparative energy use data, workshops and cohort projects which help members plan and meet their environmental goals.
